Any previous significant surgical treatment of the cartilage injury for which you are seeking current treatment will exclude you from being considered for the NeoCart® Trial. (Note: minor shaving or debridement of the lesion is permitted if the surgery was performed more than 3 months ago). If you have received partial or total knee replacement surgery for either knee, you will not be eligible for the NeoCart® Trial. Please consult your physician if you are unsure of your previous knee procedures.
If you have had any other major surgical treatments on your knee within the last 3 to 6 months, you will not be eligible for the NeoCart® Trial. You might be eligible to participate following your recovery if the trial is still open to enrollment. Please consult with your physician to determine if you have had previous surgical treatment on your knee (e.g. microfracture, bone / cartilage grafting, chondrocyte implantation or ligament repair).
